About This Test
Prolactin is a hormone that stimulates breast milk production. Elevated prolactin (hyperprolactinaemia) can cause irregular periods, infertility, and breast milk production outside of pregnancy.
📋 Preparation Instructions
Have blood drawn in the morning, ideally 3–4 hours after waking. Avoid breast stimulation, physical exercise, and stress before the test.
