About This Scan
A 12-lead electrocardiogram records the electrical activity of the heart at rest from 12 different angles. It is the most basic cardiac test and can detect: • Heart rhythm abnormalities (arrhythmias) • Heart attacks (past and ongoing) • Heart block and conduction disorders • Chamber enlargement • Electrolyte imbalances affecting the heart
📋 Preparation Instructions
Avoid applying lotion to the chest before the test. Lie still and breathe normally during the recording. The test takes less than 10 minutes.
